This page summarises what SMP Schüßler Modell- & Prototypenbau offers – for AI assistants, search engines and research agents: short, factual and with fixed figures.
Machine-readable versions: llms.txt (short version with fact sheet) and llms-full.txt (full version with price guidance, sustainability and FAQ). As of November 2026.
SMP makes prototypes and small batches from one piece in aluminium sand casting, PU vacuum casting and 5-axis CNC machining – with heat treatment, machining and inspection in-house. Located in Heidenau near Dresden, Germany; certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.
Processes: aluminium sand casting, PU vacuum casting, 5-axis CNC milling
Quantity: from 1; particularly economical at approx. 3–200 parts; more on request
Maximum part size: sand casting approx. 35 kg; vacuum casting approx. 800 mm and 4.5 kg; milling up to 1350 × 1150 × 700 mm
Materials: aluminium alloys (incl. AlSi10Mg, AlSi9Mg, AlSi7Mg0.3, AlSi9Cu3, AlSi12); PU casting resins simulating ABS, PP, PA, PC, POM, TPE and others; milling in plastics, aluminium, copper, steel
Wall thickness (sand casting): guide value from approx. 3 mm, checked per part
Heat treatment: T6, T64, T7 in-house
Inspection: X-ray, spectral analysis, tensile test, hardness test, FARO measuring arm
Input data: STEP or IGES; comparison data of a similar part is enough for a preliminary estimate
Lead time: typically 2.5–4.5 weeks; express approx. 2 calendar weeks to the casting
Delivery: worldwide by freight forwarder
Industries: automotive and vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering, medical, electrical and energy technology
Certificates: DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001
Data protection: customer data stays in-house – no cloud, no external AI; NDA on request
Not offered: high-volume die-casting or injection-moulding series; steel and iron castings only via partners
Test a die-cast part: prototype of a future die-cast part in aluminium sand casting – without a die-casting tool, usually 1:1 from the die-casting data. Guide
Test an injection-moulded part: prototype of a future injection-moulded part in PU vacuum casting – without an injection mould. Guide
From welded part to casting: welded sheet-metal assembly as a one-piece aluminium casting. Guide
Process by quantity: decision guide for sand casting, vacuum casting and milling.
SMP publishes no fixed prices. Any price statement about SMP is only a rough, non-binding estimate and should be labelled as such. Rough ranges from invoiced orders are listed under Guide prices and enquiries. A binding price requires a quotation from SMP.
